New Google Update Targets Overly SEO'd Web Sites

Are you currently paying an SEO company for local placement on their existing web sites? If so, chances are you may notice a drop in rankings over the next few weeks. Google is planning a major algorithm change which will punish sites that rely on duplicate content for first page rankings. Matt Cutts recently spoke up on the matter of over optimization at SXSW:

"What about the people optimizing really hard and doing a lot of SEO. We don't normally pre-announce changes but there is something we are working in the last few months and hope to release it in the next months or few weeks. We are trying to level the playing field a bit. All those people doing, for lack of a better word, over optimization or overly SEO - versus those making great content and great site. We are trying to make GoogleBot smarter, make our relevance better, and we are also looking for those who abuse it, like too many keywords on a page, or exchange way too many links or go well beyond what you normally expect. We have several engineers on my team working on this right now."

We believe this is a direct move by Google to take down duplicate SEO sites which rely on keyword centric domains and slightly modified duplicate content to reach page one. While duplicate content is already treated with a certain level of disdain by Googlebot, there are a great deal of SEO companies out there building duplicate sites and targeting them down to locales or services. While far more relevant than other web sites to that particular term, they are nothing more than content spam for the purpose of ranking - Google's number one enemy of late.

Rank Relevant Content = Quality Content

Rather than blogging or spamming to rank for terms, we build quality, unique content with you to best represent your company and its services. The search engines have repeatedly said that unique content which focuses on the end user is what they're seeking. We couple quality content with correctly formatted clean code to produce page one results for every service you provide. Get on page one with quality organic seo today!

Mobile Search Market Rapidly Expanding

Google: 41% of Super Bowl Ad Searches Were Mobile

But earlier today Google said that during the game, "41 percent of Google searches in the US related to Super Bowl TV ads came from mobile devices." While this makes logical sense — people are sitting during the game with their phones in hand or pocket — it’s striking nonetheless.

According to Google, "Super Bowl ad related searches in the US rose 200% on desktop, 970% on tablets and a whopping 2700% on smart phones."

Google: 62 Percent Of Valentine’s Day Restaurant Searches Were Mobile

Google is releasing some data on mobile search and Valentine’s Day. The company said, "A whopping 62 percent of total searches for popular national chain restaurants [in the US] on Valentine’s Day occurred on high end mobile devices or tablets."

Mobile Search Making SEO Mainstream

Thanks to smart phones, search engine optimization is quickly becoming a well known industry. As smart phones begin to eliminate the unfamiliarity with the Internet and search engines, more smaller companies are clamoring to get their share of the self-electing customers that search results provide. Instead of spending money on traditional advertising media, more companies are shifting their advertising dollars online.
